Nanjing Chemical Industry Park |
Established in October 2001, Nanjing Chemical Industry Park is the only chemical industrial park in Nanjing approved by the state for the development of petrochemical industry. With planning area of 45 square kilometers, it focuses on development of six fields of industries, including oil and natural gas chemical industry, basic organic chemical raw materials, fine chemicals, polymer materials, life pharmaceuticals and new chemical materials. A number of well-known chemical companies, such as China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, China National Chemical Corporation, BASF, BP, Celanese Corporation and US Air Products & Chemicals Inc., have settled in the park. The total investment has been more than 5 billion U.S. dollars.
Nanjing Chemical Industry Park is an important component of development strategy along the Yangtze River in Jiangsu Province, with the key support from Nanjing Government in petrochemical industry. In accordance with the “five integrations” development policy, i.e.” integration of industry development, integration of public facilities, integration of transportation logistics, integration of environmental safety and protection and integration of management and service”, by optimizing the industrial structure, upgrading the industry level, vigorously developing recycling economy, the park will eventually form an internationally competitive base for petrochemical production, logistics centers and chemical R & D, with a feature of deep processing and high value-added products.
